UCLA is proudly recognized as the #1 ranked public university in the U.S. and one of the top institutions for health policy and management programs.

The Executive Master of Public Health (EMPH) Program in Health Policy and Management provides a comprehensive business, management, and policy education in an executive-style format designed for the working professional.

This two-year program, with classes scheduled on weekends and taught on campus by UCLA Fielding’s world-renowned faculty and public health practitioners, is tailored to professionals from diverse backgrounds looking to gain new skills, obtain leadership positions in their organizations, or change their professional focus.

EMPH graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to master the challenges of our changing healthcare environment.

COHORT LEARNING

A class of students representing various clinical, managerial, and professional backgrounds is admitted as a single cohort into the program each year.

The smaller class size and cohort structure promote close collaboration in an intimate learning environment, enabling participants to take full advantage of one another’s diverse knowledge and experience.

The next cohort begins August 2025.

“The UCLA EMPH program felt like a healthcare focused MBA, taught by distinguished faculty and adjunct faculty who helped us understand 1) different aspects of public health and 2) the practical applications to healthcare delivery and management. My favorite part was the summer applied project at UCLA Health where I joined a team, worked on various projects, and essentially explored the system. Our cohort and faculty have become mentors and friends, which has been invaluable to my career.”
