
Matt Beymer, PhD
Course: Introduction to Public Health
Matt Beymer, PhD, is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. He has taught the Introduction to Public Health course in the MHA Program since 2024, and he has taught a data analytics course in the Department of Community Health Sciences since 2018.
Dr. Beymer has worked for the past 7 years as a Statistician with the U.S. Army Medical Command studying issues related to behavioral health among Soldiers including food insecurity, substance misuse, intimate partner violence, and health disparities among LGBT service members. Previously, he served as the Lead Epidemiologist for the Los Angeles LGBT Center where his work focused on sexual health and disparities.
Matt holds a PhD in Public Health and an MPH in Epidemiology, both from UCLA, and a BS in Microbiology from UC San Diego.
